The event occurred while the patient was standing, preceded by prodromal symptoms including lightheadedness and diaphoresis, and followed by rapid, complete recovery without confusion. There was no seizure activity, no loss of bowel or bladder control, and no post-ictal state. The patient has no prior history of syncope, no known cardiac or neurologic disease, and no family history of sudden cardiac death. He reports poor hydration and oral intake, which likely contributed to the episode. Physical examination is largely unremarkable, with positive orthostatic vital signs, supporting a benign etiology. The clinical presentation is most consistent with vasovagal (neurally mediated) syncope, potentially compounded by orthostatic hypotension due to dehydration.
