Document Content and Description Below

1. Description of the tool I choose PMD as tool for static source code analysis. From PMD Docs (https://pmd.github.io/pmd-6.46.0/index.html), “PMD is a static source code analyzer. It finds comm... on programming flaws like unused variables, empty catch blocks, unnecessary object creation, and so forth. It’s mainly concerned with Java and Apex, but supports six other languages.” PMD has features like custom rulesets and incremental analysis. A ruleset is an XML configuration file, which describes a collection of rules to be executed in a PMD run. Some of the inbuilt ruleset categories available with PMD are as below. a. Best Practices: These are rules which enforce generally accepted best practices. b. Code Style: These rules enforce a specific coding style. c. Design: Rules that help you discover design issues. d. Documentation: These rules are related to code documentation. e. Error Prone: Rules to detect constructs that are either broken, extremely confusing or prone to runtime errors. [Show More]
