The functioning axon is the part of a nevre cell which sends impulses from a nerve cell to another nerve cell. This is done in some similar ways in which electrical impulses are sent through a wire.... Compared to a wire, if an axon is broken or if it torn, the actual nerve impulses cannot, and will not, be transmitted. Also, much like a wore, the axon can have insolation. If this insolation is damaged or harmed, it can result in serious damage to issues with the nerve cells. A great example of this would-be radio cord. If you sit something on a radio cord and it becomes frayed, unbeknownst to the user, the radio stop working but if the cord is touched it will shock the person who touches the frayed cord. This is due to the rubber from the outside of the cord no longer being there and it being exposed. Same goes for axons. Once our axons are damaged, normal transmission is negatively affected which causes differing parts of our brain to not function correctly. • What are the two answers (one and the other to the question, is our perception of colors and details worse in the dim illumination than in bright Our eye, the human eye, includes two (2) types of photoreceptors, which are rods and cones. The cones are really sensitive to light and are also used in the bright light. There are (3) three types of cones: green, red, and blue. Each of the cones do not have the same intensity, therefore with two bright colors, we will see one of those colors brighter. Our rods are more sensitive as far as light goes, therefore they are used more in dim light. Our rods only see white and black. They also have very poor resolution; however, they do remain very sensitive in any low light. [Show More]
