I knew the priority was to assess for ABC’s and to administer oxygen if needed and to establish IV access. I did just that and phoned the provider, administered medications as prescribed and reassessed the patient. I was able to be thorough in my assessment and used critical thinking to implement nursing interventions. The only thing that had me a bit worried was that I thought the patient was going to get worse. I did my best to prioritize and problem solve by efficiently assessing and treating expeditiously.
