The Everglades is the only place in the world that has both crocodiles and alligators cohabitating in the same place (Eversole, C. B., Henke, S. E., Wester, D. B., Ballard, B. M., Powell, R. Freshwater flow is important as well because crocodilians are dependent on the water resolution as well as temperature and toxins found in the water. The spread of invasive exotic species, such as C. equisetifolia and L. microphyllum (which are a type of pine tree) is an example of another threat to the ecosystem (Dorena R., Violin, J., Richards, J. 2009).
