Well mad that her husband just sat there on his phone while his wife is bleeding! But in reality, I felt
comfortable but that quickly changed when she was lying there bleeding out.
Describe the actions you felt went well in this scenario.
I was able to figure out what was going wrong and call the Physician for more orders.
Scenario Analysis Questions1
EBP/I What risk factors did you identify in Fatime Sanogo’s case that could have led to postpartum
hemorrhage? A large baby, Large laceration, use of Oxytocin, prolonged labor.
EBP List the actions that should be initiated if administering oxytocin is ineffective.
Steps to decrease bleeding, and preventing shock. Bolusing of fluids as well as contacting the
physician for additional medications. If there is large blood loss and the patient is showing
signs of shock a rapid response should be called and patient transferred.
EBP What were the assessment findings in Fatime Sanogo’s case that indicated her condition was
worsening? Her b/p was lowering, her HR continued to elevate.
PCC What communication techniques could be initiated to decrease the anxiety of Fatime Sanogo
