Bacterial meningitis Didanosine is an antiretroviral medication used to inhibit replication of HIV-1. Bacterial meningitis is not a viral infection and is treated with different therapies. Syphilis Didanosine is an antiretroviral medication used to inhibit replication of HIV-1. Syphilis is an infection caused by a spirochete that is treated with benzathine penicillin G.
