Introduction
My platform will encapsulate Apple’s Code of Conduct and their responsibility
information. Additionally, I will describe Apple’s position on enabling workers, labor, health and
safety, the environment and accountability related to Apple’s Code of Conduct.
Apple Supplier Responsibility
The Apple mantra is to make difficult projects simple and to design new products to
enrich consumer’s everyday lives. Apple’s many products include such items as the iPad and
iPhones, as well as Mac computer systems that fund more than a million people’s lives within the
worldwide corporation. Apple’s Code of Conduct is among the toughest in the computer
electronics industry, and Apple has made it even stronger with multiple internal audits at
numerous levels of the supply chain. Apple also invested in the training of well over more than
1.5 million suppliers on their specific laws and regulations (Apple Inc, 2015). It is Apple’s belief
that every supplier/workers should have the right to a safe working condition, in that
understanding the company’s audit well into their supply chain and hold their suppliers fully
accountable to strict industry standards.
Apple Stance on Social Responsibility
Apple is deeply committed to providing a myriad of educational opportunities for their
employees, in an effort to insure everyone has every opportunity to avail themselves of needed
and paid-for educational resources within their supply chain. Apple provides training of their
employees on their rights to free college classes in technology, language and other subjects.

Further, Apple also provides openings for workers to receive an associate’s or bachelor’s degree
utilizing the company’s Supplier Employee Education and Development (SEED) program. Apple
has trained well over 2 million employees on their available educational resources in 2014 which
is more than 6 million employees since 2007 (Apple Inc, 2015). In an effort to insure that every
Apple employee has an opportunity to avail themselves of the educational opportunities, the
company also provides an app-based iPad program at 10 separate sites. Since the company’s
educational inception through the new mobile SEED app program, over 35,000 participants in
2014 have taken advantage of the opportunity.
Understanding Labor and Human Rights
Apple has established the standard to achieve an average of over 30% compliance within
a maximum of a 60-hour work week. As of late, any workweek in excess of 55 work hours is
usually a problem for the computer electronic industry, in an effort to resolve that concern
Apple’s priority is to eventually end excessive work hours within a weak. Additionally, Apple is
working to abolish unscrupulous hiring while also protecting workers from exploitation. It was in
2014 the company facilitated 33 dedicated audits at locations employing foreign employees
targeted at those that may be at risk for unfair work conditions. As a result, 60 reps from over 60
supplier locations which averaged around 240,000 workers attended the company’s Ethical
Hiring training in 2013 (Apple Inc, 2015).
Understanding and Driving Health and Safety
Apple firmly believes that safety within the workplace is never to be subjected to any
type of compromise, mainly because each employee has a right to enjoy a safe and healthy

workplace. In that understanding Apple is constantly seeking out new ways to make workplace
processes and their facilities as safe as possible. The Apple company also provides education
opportunities regarding suppliers in an effort to develop a more technically skilled and proactive
management staff for the development of Apple’s future leaders (Noronha, 2014). Also, Apple
has initiated the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Academy for the company’s suppliers in
an effort to enhance all health and safety concerns through relevant education. In 2014, more
than 100 supply personnel and over 300 participants supporting well over 250,000 workers were
trained extensively on health and safety areas of concern within the EHS Academy.
The World’s Environment
Apple’s belief is that our global planet’s natural resources are in dangerous demand and
not too quickly replenishing themselves. As a result, these resources must and should be
protected for future generations, in that Apple is diligently working to decrease the
environmental impact and fully expects their local as well as all suppliers to mirror their efforts.
Apple strives to create environmentally friendly products in an effort to ensure that their
suppliers use environmentally and responsible manufacturing processes.
Apple’s Product Report
The Apply company has unceasingly partnered with their suppliers to speak to losses and
take immediate steps to resolve any concerns to improve the accountability of the respective
supplier. Apple piloted 475 various audits in 2014 on each level within the supply chain, which is
more than 325 audits in 2012 in an effort to isolate any identified issues and areas of concern.

products (Apple Inc, 2015). Apple is vigorously engaged in process improvements in an effort to
advance supplier operations and further committed to transparency, through allowing their upper
250 supplier names along with their addresses, locations and conflict-free certification status to
be made available. Apple is the only company with this level of transparency and public
accountability visibility.

The Apple company initiated their supplier responsibility expectation in 2006, since that
time the Apple company has consistently worked on property with suppliers to manage identified
