NR103 Transition to the Nursing Profession Week 4 Mindfulness Reflection Template
In this weeks’ video, you learned about ways to be accountable for daily exercise. Which of the exercise methods described do you think you might adapt to your lifestyle? How many times a week would you need to engage in this exercise to experience positive benefits? Who might be your accountability partner; and who else might you inspire?
Type your reflection below, using the question you are answering as the section header. Remember, you must answer all questions.
In this week’s mindfulness video discuss mindful movement, such as exercises and being aware of our body along with the bodies of our patients. Mindful movement helps you to understand what the body is asking as far as physical activity is concerned. The activities in the video encourages you to focus on your movement and effect it makes on you.
Which of the exercise methods described do you think you might adapt to your lifestyle?
One of the exercises that I would implement into my daily regimen would be the five-minute workout. This five-minute workout as stated in the video can be done anytime and anywhere. There isn’t any equipment required, therefore you can do it in your home, and this can also be incorporated while at work. This workout helps to keep you active during your daily task. It helps to keep your heart pumping and increase creativity while reducing stress.
How many times a week would you need to engage in this exercise to experience positive benefits?
I typically would do a 30-minute workout for five days, consequently I would continue a five-day work out without any vigorous activities. At home, in my garage, I would run on the treadmill to increase my cardiovascular system and to burn more calories oppose to losing any weight, I would then do a few squats and some lunges. Now that I have been learning a little more about mindfulness I’ve been meditating as well.
Who might be your accountability partner; and who else might you inspire?
My accountability partner would be my sister, Marietta. She works out at least 6-7 days a week. She wakes up every morning before work and heads to the gym. On the weekends she goes to the gym around 9am; around 11-12 she makes a post-workout smoothie to fuel up and built muscle. The one person I would like to inspire is my mother. She is of course is over 50 years of age and she’s healthy, but I would like to keep her just the same. At her age working out would help fight off any infections and fast recovery if injured, it also prevents chronic diseases such as stroke and heart attack and increase life expectancy.
