func. class: antiinfective
chem class: Cephalosporin (2nd generation)
Action: inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, renders cell wall osmotically unstable, leads to cell death by binding to cell wall membrane
cefuroxime uses :gram negative bacilli: haemophilus influenzas, Escheria coli, Neisseria, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella; gram-positive organisms: Streptococcus pneumonia, Streptococcus pyogenes, Strepticoccus aureus; serious lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin bone, joint, gonococcal infections; septicemia, meningitis, surgery prophylaxis

Patient teaching: report sore throat, bruising, bleeding, joint pain, diarrhea with mucus, blood; symptoms of hypersensitivity
Ipratropium and albuterol
Action: causes bronchodilation by action on B2 (pulmonary) receptors by increasing levels of cAMP, which relaxes smooth muscle; produces bronchodilation, CNS or cardiac stimulation as well as increased diuresis and gastric acid secretion; longer acting than isoproterenol.
Uses: prevention of exercise-induced asthma, acute bronchospasm, bronchitis, emphysema, b bronchiectasis, or other reversible airway obstruction.
