Document the client’s advance directive status
Ensure the advance directive status reflects the clients wishes

An advance directive is a legal document that expresses the clients wishes regarding medical treatment in the event the client becomes incapacitated and is facing end of life issues
Staff should give clients who do not have advance directives information regarding health care decisions
Clients should be given information about how formulate an advance directive and have a health care representative present
• Assignment, Delegation and Supervision - (1)

Can only delegate tasks appropriate for skill level and education of personal being delegated to

Provide information regarding acquisition of supplies for ostomy care

Client should alcohol use
Manifestations of oral toxicity include lethargy, confusion, and drowsiness

This is okay but client should be turned regularly since pressure is mainly on hip and shoulder

Hazardous materials should be placed in biohazardous bag
Contaminated surfaces should be cleaned with hydrogen peroxide or bleach
all hazardous materials should be treated with at least standard precautons

Cord should be kept dry and diaper folded under it
Manual expression of milk may be needed to initiate breastfeeding
