Consolidation “As a species, we are held captive by the only planet we know that can sustain life…. If we have learned anything at all from our history, it must be that, in the end, life prevail ... s and ultimately will be the victor on the miracle planet.” ~ From Miracle Plant Survival of the Fittest Planet earth is the only planet eligible to sustain life. In the quotation where it says “we are held captive”, we truly are. There are many other planets in our galaxy, but humans cannot live on them. “In the end, life prevails and ultimately will be the victor on the miracle planet” (known as earth). This validates that life wins, each and every single person you know right now will die and that is ultimately the course of life. At some point in time everyone you know will die, and one day there will be a point in time where it seems as though you never existed. Therefore life does prevail and will be the victor. The quotation largely relates to physical anthropology because it speaks about the earth and human life on the miracle planet. Physical anthropology is about the biological aspects of life and how they connect to humans, this consolidation efficiently demonstrates physical anthropology. Importance of the evolution of the use of language Language is easily one of the most important and crucial tools humans use to communicate thoughts, ideas, and emotions. The topic of language is difficult to study because there is not much direct evidence. Some approaches include archaeology, such as mining, and looking for traces of physical adaptation to language use from over 5 million years ago. “We cannot doubt that language owes its origin to the imitation and modification, aided by signs and gestures, of various natural sounds, the voices of other animals, and man's own instinctive cries.” — Charles Darwin, 1871. The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex The main obstacle to the evolution of language is the fact that symbols and associations of sounds or other corresponding meanings are unreliable and could possibly be false. Homosapians had sufficiently developed brains but it is said genus homo had more grammatically correct connection levels that were significantly lower than Homo sapiens (humans). The evolution of language and speech has greatly developed in the 21st century we have over 5000 different forms of the language spoken across the world. Humans have been exposed to great amounts of education over millions of years, corresponding with the period in which language has evolved. How do you think we will continue to evolve based on this specific focus? We as humans will continue to evolve language by increased brain development and IQ. In the English language alone there are around 170, 000 words and with more human development comes inventions, discoveries, and new mechanisms to help the world prosper. We will also evolve in language and speech when people across the world learn new words; per one person 20, 000 to 30. 000 words are in their vocabulary. Therefore we all have much more to learn as a whole. Another factor in the evolution of language is education. The ability to communicate in multiple languages is becoming more and more important in the increasingly integrated global business community. Since education has been extensively available to most humans, our world has continued to grow and flourish in the aspect of learning, brain development, and language. The impact of language Language has greatly impacted us and was created to help humans survive. It is a a very important part of human development, with the evolution of language social and cognitive skills have become crucial to human development as well. Researchers Steven Pinker and Paul Bloom created a theory, that a series of calls or gestures evolved over time into combinations, giving us complex communication, which formed language. [Show More]
