What messages would yo... u like to bring to these leaders and why? Word Count: 463 As of today, poverty is still a widespread issue in many developing and developed countries in the world. In this sense, governments, NGOs, and all the related political and non-political institutions must tackle these issues more effectively. In this short essay, I will discuss possible measures that can be adopted to decrease this plague that is poverty. In recent years, the World Bank (WB) has set the poverty line at such a low level that it allows governments to claim inexistent progresses in the eradication of this issue. The first step in solving a problem, is to recognise its existence, especially in scenario where the global pandemic will push an increasing number of people into extreme poverty. Hence as a start, the WB should stick with a given level of the poverty line and try to take measures to improve it, without trying to mask fake progress. [Show More]
