Direct object :-

Phrase :-
A group of words that are related but do not contain a verb and a subject
Preposition :-
A word such as by, at, to, or from that gives additional information,
usually in relationship to something else in the sentence
Pronoun :-
A word that replaces and refers to a noun (its antecedent)
*they or them is plural - cannot be used to avoid gendered language
Ex: The guy reiterated the possibility of danger to each person as he or she (they)
entered the bus.
Prepositional phrase :-
Usually composed of a preposition, an article and an object
of the preposition
Subject-verb agreement :-
When or or not is used to connect multiple subjects that
are singular, a singular verb is required; when and is used, a plural verb is necessary
Ex: Neither Mark nor Ann enjoys studying obstetrics, but both Mark and Ann enjoy
studying geriatrics.

Direct dialogue :-
Tells exactly what someone said. Always in quotation marks. -
Contains an attributive tag (who said it) followed by a comma, then the quote.
-If it is a complete or end of the sentence include punctuation in the quotation. If not,
a comma and then the closing quotation marks.
-If a question or exclamation mark applies to the whole sentence it goes after the
quotation.
-The first word of the direct dialogue is capitalized if the quote contains a whole
sentence.
