Introduction Typically, leadership is the ability of an individual to influence and motivate other people's actions and behaviors alongside delegating their responsibilities and duties, responding ... to their feedback, and solving the arising challenges effectively. One learns to be a good leader at various levels of their life and while performing different roles. Generally, a good leader possesses or is defined by specific qualities, core skills, and aspects, such as being able to collaborate with other people, being self-aware, empowering others, and garnering credibility, and can be defined by relationship building. Self-awareness or self-knowledge among business leaders is crucial as it helps them understand the environments where they thrive, recognize areas of improvement, and comprehensively understand their leadership style. The paper presents a reflection of my leadership profile, giving detail to my leadership experiences as a current corporal in jail, assesses my leadership by reflecting on Jack Welch's Foundation Principles and stating eight essential leadership rules, evaluates how my leadership strengths and experiences relate to my DISC profile and my emotional intelligence and outline my plan for mastering different leadership skills. Leadership Experiences In my current professional role (a corporal in jail), I have had experiences in different leadership aspects that have played a significant role in making me a good leader. Generally, I am inclined to relationship building, empowering others, being self-aware, and garnering credibility. In addition, I have the leadership aspect of empowering others, remaining authentic, exhibiting humanity, and remaining focused and consistent with my actions. Leadership Aspects of Current Role As a jail corporal, I have interacted with several leadership aspects, which have been helpful in my leadership skills development. Some of the duties that I execute include ensuring the personal and physical needs of the inmates are met, issuing personal items and mail, ensuring the cleanliness of the inmates living areas, and issuing clothes and linens to the inmates.
