My PICOT question is: In children and young adults, is the use of reduced dose of radiation exposure of computed tomography (CT) decrease the changes of cancer in comparison to higher dose during their lifetime? Upon reviewing the article, the researchers used a quantitative study design to analyze how one variable affects others over a period of time. The aim of this quantitative study was to determine if the increase exposure of computed tomography (CT) scan during childhood or adolescence did indeed cause cancer and examine how cancer predisposing factors affect the assessment of radiation related risk.
