They also support a value system that emphasizes mutual support and respect among the researchers (IOWA State University, 2016). Various ethical principles should be adhered to when undertaking this research. The principles emphasize the need to follow the rules and do what is right. These principles include: The researcher will obtain informed consent from the respondents before participation in the research. Accordingly, they must be fully aware of the research's purpose, the information required, and where this information will be used. The researcher will ensure that the respondents are protected and not exposed to any form of danger in the study process (Lund Research limited, 2012). Where there is a possibility of harm or exposing the respondent to discomfort, such a process should be terminated. The use of deceptive practices will be avoided by luring people into participating in the research study (Tai, 2012). Since this is not a covert research study, it will be avoided entirely, and all the necessary information should be shared with the participants. Anonymity and confidentiality of the participants will be safeguarded, and numbers will identify participants. For fear of victimization, respondents will not share their names in the study. Finally, the participants will be granted the right to withdraw from the research. Sometimes the participants may feel uncomfortable with the process and want to end the interview. In such a situation, they should be allowed to withdraw. Ensuring Ethics in Research This study source was downloaded by 100000861453484 from CourseHero.com on 05-16-2023 11:33:41 GMT -05:00 The research processes will be reviewed to ensure no risks associated with physical harm, social disadvantage, or psychological discomfort that may jeopardize the process. A secure location will be selected for the interview. Information on the research contents will be shared with the selected participants before they can participate in the interviews. This information will be shared seven days before enabling them to decide whether they should consider participating in the research or withdrawing. Sharing information prior is also very important to avoid instances of deception. For anonymity, the research will allocate the unique participants' codes consisting of numbers. Such will ensure they remain anonymous with no direct links to their identification. Informed Consent Form PARTICIPANT CONSENT Title of research study: Investigators: 1. Purpose: The study's primary purpose was to determine the nurses' stress and burnout levels and the effect this has on their work. It also seeks to determine suitable approaches towards resolving stress and burnout among the nurses. 2. Procedures: If you agree to undertake this interview, you will be asked various questions in your work line. The researcher will ask about your working schedule, the duties you undertake, the number of hours you work, medical history, sleeping patterns, workplace relationships, and background information. The researcher will ask various questions, including some that will be repeated for accuracy of the data. Alternative procedures: You do not have to participate in the interview actively; you may request to fill in the questionnaire anonymously and send it to the researcher. Benefit: The findings from this study will help us identify suitable solutions to several instances of stress and burnout experienced in health facilities (Tappen, 2016). The findings will be shared with the hospital management for potential consideration in the future. You may also decline participation in this interview without giving any reasons if you do not feel comfortable continuing. Research Participant Signature………….. Date……………….. Research Signature…………………… Date……………….. Recruiting Participants The recruitment of the research participants will seek to ensure that suitable participants are selected for the process. Factors such as willingness, information, and interest to participate will be considered before enrollment. It is essential to determine that the respondents have information representing the needs of the research. The recruitment will adhere to the ethical research standards by promoting volunteering and sharing research information with the participants. Quantitative Data The findings of this research study will be dependent on the quantitative data collected from the field. The data will be collected through questionnaire guided interviews; the researcher will record the data for further analysis. Observation of the working environment will also be crucial in the study. The data required in this study will include ▪ the working hours, ▪ the number of duties assigned, This study source was downloaded by 100000861453484 from CourseHero.com on 05-16-2023 11:33:41 GMT -05:00 ▪ the nature of the work the participants undertake, ▪ the rest time allocated, ▪ compensation from the employer and employment policies.
