The nervous system, which is the body’s decision and communication center, is made up of the brain, the spinal cord, and the peripheral part comprised of nerves. All of them work together to contr ... ol the functions of the body such as breathing, blinking, and memory. The brain is the foundation for learning and cognition; special roles which change physical structures of the brain and alter the organizational function[Mar154]. Also, scientists have discovered that different parts of the brain are ready to learn at different times[The182]. Instruction and learning form a critical part of brain development and psychological development through a continuous interaction between the person and the environment. Cognition is defined as the process of understanding knowledge through senses, experiences, and thoughts while learning is acquiring knowledge through being thought, study and experience[Psy18]. Both processes are interlinked and they depend on each other. Different structures of the brain contribute to the two processes in different ways. Ackerman (1992), observed that there are structural changes in the brain which accompany learning. Such biological changes indicate that the brain continues to grow even after maturation.
