iHuman patient Max Boardman Prework A 52 year old male who is being admitted for a possible joint infection following a total left knee arthroplasty two weeks ago. 1. What are your primary conc ... erns for this patient and what assessments and interventions would be associated with your concerns? Why? My primary concern with this client will be the development of sudden chest pain. This could be the result of fat emboli traveling to the lungs and leading to pulmonary embolism. Another area of concern is pain control. With Possible joint infection, this patient could be in excruciating pain. My assessment will be focused on respiratory functions first then on the consistency of the incision site, the odor, whether or not there is drainage, if so, what’s the color and the amount. Besides assessing the incision, I will also assess the quality of the pain, whether the pain radiates or not, whether it’s constant and what makes it better or worse. In addition, I will monitor the patient’s vital signs and take immediate action in case the patient is running a fever or if there is presence of chills [Show More]
