I have always worked with computers and technology. It has always been a field in which I understood the information easily. I have worked in IT for roughly 15 years and have been in a leadership role for about half of that time.
What is your professional involvement with the privacy and security of patient data and EHR hardware? I started my career working with the State Legislature so security was always important. Once I relocated to Arizona I worked with many hospitals, medical practices, law offices and financial offices as a Network Consultant. Installing and configuring networks that had to rely on security protocols and adhere to industry security regulations. After I took a role as the IT Director for a large cardiologist office I was able to truly hone my HIPAA compliance skills. I brought these skills to several practices when I implemented EHR systems and have utilized it daily here for the organization.
