Idea of the Exercise Classes
Two main goals:
Understanding and applying the concepts introduced in the lecture
Preparation for the exam
One problem set per exercise class
Made available about one week before the exercise
You should try to solve some of the problems before the class Solutions to the problems will be posted on Ilias
I will try to create additional benefit rather than just presenting the solution slides (e.g. focus on selected exercises, different solution approach, interaction with students, highlighting important concepts)
Grading
Grading is solely based on the 60-minutes final exam Preliminary date: 21.12.2018
The exam usually consists of about five problems
The structure of the exam questions is similar to the [more difficult] problem set questions
In fact, some problems are old exam questions
As an additional preparation, I will post one or two old exams on Ilias
Note: It is not sufficient to learn the lecture slides and problem sets by heart. You will have to apply your knowledge to receive a good grade in this course.
How to make the most of this class...

Stay involved during the semester (continued work pays off in terms of grades and life quality)
