Moreover, it could lead to improved patient outcomes by reducing the costs and risks associated with inter-hospital transfers. Another benefit of local ICUs is the collaboration with specialists who could be located in regional centers. A mind map could be applied to determine the application of telemedicine in the healthcare sector as illustrated in Appendix A.
