The safe working practices and procedures to be followed whilst preparing and tidying your work area are. When preparing you should make sure that the work area is clean and tidy and there is no debris/substances or possible hazards such as existing jobs/tool or equipment in or surrounding the work area. When tidying up the work area the work area the procedure is to make sure that it is cleared of any and all debris and dirt. All jobs and equipment are checked and then stored away in their respected places. Any chemicals/oil/grease/materials used should be disposed off or stored correctly and safely. And finally wipe down the work bench and tolls and clear the area of any protentional hazards making sure that the work area is left clean and safe to be used again. Answer: The safe working practices and procedures that need to be followed while preparing and tidying up the work area are to firstly before you start, you should check that the work area is clear of any debris or substances where any work needs to be performed to clear of any hazards, and any waste materials should be disposed of safely and in the correct way such as if there was a chemical it should be disposed safely. It is important to apply the appropriate occupational behaviours in the workplace as it is the base for building a good working relationship with others in your team. You will be more respected by others in the workplace if you apply good behaviours and follow the code of conduct and in turn you can form a good relationship with them, good workplace behaviours also provide a good impressions to others and any visitors to the site too which improves the reputation of the business and may improve their relationship with customers if potential customers or business was able to see the good working by employees. If the appropriate behaviours are not applied this can lead to consequences such as disciplinary procedures and can lead to a loss of job. Answer: You should be prepared for the type of activity or task you may be expected to perform by wearing the correct appropriate personal protective equipment such as a high visibility jacket or safety glasses and don’t wear any jewellery or tie up any long hair if it may be seen as a hazard in the area. You should respect people you are working with by being neat and clean using good hygiene habits and personal hygiene is also especially important if working in the food and drink industry. To present yourself in the workplace suitably dressed for the activities to be undertaken, you must understand what work you are going to do and then wear clothing that is appropriate for that work. 4. Explain the importance of reporting to work on time and returning from breaks on time and the potential consequences if this is not adhered to. Answer: It's important to report to work and return from breaks on time as it firstly demonstrates that you are diligent and dependable so they will have more trust in you as you are seen as reliable, it shows that you can honour any commitments and you can be trusted. It also sets a good example of working for employees and shows that you have respect for other people, and you make sure you think about their time along with yours. The potential consequences if not adhered to could lead to disciplinary procedures and further monitoring and if you still not follow these rules this could lead to a loss of a job. 5. Describe the types of attitudes and behaviours that are likely to create conflict or negative responses. Answer: The attitudes that are likely to create problems are negative attitudes towards people and starting arguments by not respecting other people and their opinions. Behaviours that would start conflict are demanding requests that are placing stress on the person who is being asked, and if you arrive to work with a negative attitude then you are bound to receive negative responses, you should always respect people and treat them the way that you would want to be treated. 6. Describe the benefits of team working and understanding of team objectives. Answer: The benefits of working in a team and understanding team objectives are that It can improve efficiency in a team, as they are working together this means that they can collaborate to improve the workflow and the speed that it can be completed by. When working in a team, you are also able to generate more and better ideas as multiple people can come together for more approaches towards a task and creativity in how to complete it, ideas also can be discussed to debate their uses and drawbacks to each idea, also the combination of knowledge and experience helps in contributing to produce a solution and avoiding any mistakes. Describe the roles of individual team members and the strengths they bring to the team. Answer: There are nine different types of team role behaviours that have been identified by Belbin that when all of these contribute it can lead to a successful team. These roles are the Resource Investigator, which tries to find ideas by being inquisitive and they develop contacts and opportunities by being outgoing and enthusiastic. The team worker who is versatile and identifies the work to complete for the team and they are cooperative and helps the team gel, the coordinator who focuses on the objectives and delegates work so this clarifies the goals and can organise the team. the plant who is free thinking and creative, this and this makes them good at solving problems and difficulties in unconventional ways. The monitor evaluator who judges the problems and provides a logical approach to the team, the specialist who provides in depth knowledge of a key area to the team. The shaper is challenging and drives the team to keep momentum, the implementer who plans out a strategy and implements it to turn ideas into actions and the completer finisher who polishes the work out for errors as a quality control standard. 8.
