Frankenstein’s Vicious Circle Death is part of life and trying to cheat death will have major consequences despite good intentions. In the film Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, cause and effect is s... hown to be abundant throughout the film. A cause is a person or thing that gives rise to an action, while an effect is a consequence of a cause. This paper discusses Victor Frankenstein’s reasons for creating the creature and the consequences that follow those actions. Even though Victor has blameless intentions for creating the creature, those intentions will not only bring life but also death. Victor wants to reverse death so that he wouldn’t lose his loved ones. One of the motives for creating the creature is caused by the death of both his mother and his professor Waldam. Victor comments on his mother’s passing, “How could all my father's knowledge and skill fail to save her?” Victor loves his mother very much and losing her becomes Victor’s first purpose for creating the creature.
