"The Killer Angels" introduces leading events up to the battle as well as the emotional experience of living it. Armies and individuals are presented along with their day by day action, problems faced and giving the insight of the Confederate and the Union's battle. Michael Shaara does an excellent job of showing the courage and bravery of the men fighting on both armies. The novel begins with Harrison, a spy hired by General Longstreet to investigate and keep an eye on the movements of the Union.
