Next, find out the composition of the members and discuss if they meet federal guidelines. The NIH course “Protecting Human Research Participants” was very informative. Through participation in the course, I learned that there is a great deal of work that goes into a study before the actual work and research needed for the study begins. It is vital to obtain informed consent from participants and to maintain the privacy of participants. Through the course I learned about the history of why it is important to protect human research participants. The codes and regulations and topics of respect for persons, beneficence, and justice were also expanded upon in reference to human research participants. [Show More]
