The purpose of this study is to look at the impact of venture capital on innovation in small and medium sized businesses. Using a number of firms as the basis for making conclusions, it is clear that... venture capital can help spur innovation in a company as well as helping improve financial performance. Venture Capital backed entities perform better than the non venture backed entities in terms of the number of patents registered and the levels of profitability. The findings in this research imply that venture capital is a good way of promoting development of small and medium sized businesses innovation.
