Challenges in the Supply Chain Electric cycle needs to choose a distributor who can ensure that their motorcycles reach the market in time. The supply chain implemented needs to ensure that the elect... rical and non-electrical components needed to make the motorcycle are readily available when needed. This is especially true for the rare earth metals which are sourced from South America a relatively unstable region. This means Electric Cycle needs to create enough stock piles to ensure any disruption in their supply does not lead to shutdowns in their manufacturing plants and cause a failure to meet customer orders. Supply chains are defined as added value streams to manufacturing of goods (In Fernie & In Sparks, 2019). Therefore, raw materials used in the production of motorcycles should not be in short supply. Any action which leads to supply cuts or reduction should be anticipated and proper action taken to insulate the company.
