Also, one of the most current health policies in Arizona is Senate Bill 1321, Health Information Organizations. The bill was passed 2019 and signed into law by Governor Douglas Ducey and says that all health care organizations can disclose medical records and information according to federal and state law, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), and that individuals with or whom get a communicable disease is not required to disclose or be forced except as authorized by state or federal laws, as well as HIPAA (Carter, 2019). Furthermore, this paper will discuss Arizona SB 1321 pros and cons, the governments impact on health care, what regulating authority implements this policy, and how federal, state, and local regulatory responsibilities on implementing SB 1321.
