Labour Law > ESSAY > English Only Rules and Ordinances at the Work Place Should be banned (All)
Foreign languages have become increasingly prevalent in the United States in recent times. Because of the growth of other languages in the country, advocates want the authorities to allow their use in... the country’s workplaces. The English-only rule means employees can only use the language to conduct business. However, some businesses allow their employees to speak other languages only when dealing with customers. Critics of the English-only rule argue that it is a form of discrimination. The campaigners against the rule also argue that Title VII protects workers against language discrimination at the workplace. With an increasing number of migrants moving into the country, the English-only rule should be banned because they are a form of discrimination that that should not have a place in the American society.
