The team assignment provides learners the opportunity to engage with the concepts and tools for sustainability reporting presented in the course. This is a research and case study project. In the proj ... ect, teams will present theory concerning sustainability reporting, and briefly discuss its history, current initiatives, existing global use and acceptance, its challenges and benefits and future promise. In addition, teams will review and evaluate an organization’s publicly-available Sustainability Report*. The evaluation provided by the teams will examine the organization’s Sustainability Report in terms of its qualitative characteristics such as: balance, comparability, accuracy, timeliness, clarity, and reliability (GRI Sustainability Reporting Guidelines), and its value to your team as external stakeholders. Teams will also identify areas where improvements in reporting could be made for the organization to provide more useful information for external users. *Note: The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is one source for identifying companies with sustainability reports available.
