While visiting the art gallery, I was impressed by the amount of beautiful paintings on display. Although many pieces caught my eye one of the paintings stuck in my mind. ‘The amazement of the gods� ... �� done in the 1590s by the painter Hans Von Aachen. The painting illustrates how Jupiter abandons Venus and loves Minerva with all the other pagan gods amazed at the act. The piece moved me because of the precision with which the painter captures the scene and the emotions of all the figures in the painting. The proportions in the painting are impressive considering the period of doing the painting. [Show More]
