Cold Fronts are made up of cold air advancing forward in the cold air mass and typically shaped like a dome. Cold air is denser and will slip under the warm air forcing it to rise up. If the warm air is unstable, thunderstorms will be produced at the frontal zone of the boundary. Warm fronts are made up of warm air which will rise above the cooler air at a more gradual slope. Clouds will develop during this and usually have more depth just north of the front. Precipitation is heaviest closest to the front.
