The five-step model is five steps that help one solve a problem. The five steps include identifying a problem, the causes and effects of the problem, creating solutions to solving the problem, critically think of the best option from step four to solve the problem and act, monitor and if needed modify the problem. This lesson was important to me because I had a real personal issue that I did not think of until last week. I have managed to take this lesson and apply it into my personal problem and so far my health is doing well. My blood sugar has not dropped once and I am eating so much better. I can use this lesson in my everyday life because no matter where one goes one will always have problems that need to be solved. The second lesson involves becoming a critical thinker which is an eight step process. The eight steps include being able to see the need to enhance one’s critical thinking skills, what issues may prevent one from developing better critical thinking skills, how does one modify or fix the issues, being able to determine whether or not the information is reliable, being able to determine whether the source is creditable or not, being able to comprehend the problem solving process, one is able to solve problems when it comes to everyday life, and being a critical thinker becomes a huge part of one’s life. This lesson was important to me because it has given me the tools to actually step outside the box and ask questions because I want to be able to come to a sound opinion based on the research and the questions I asked. This will help me with everyday life because I will question things more and just not be a puppet to the puppet master.
