The organization bought the franchise rights of the food and beverage company PepsiCo. The company owns seven production branches that produce various beverages in Tetrapack juices, Cans, Non-returnable Glass Bottles and PET bottles. ORC has drinks that include; Pepsi, Mirinda, Evervess Soda, seven up and Shani. ORC also produces its brand of juice known as Top fruit. The organization trades in Frito Lays snacks which comprise of Doritos, Sunbites and Cheetos. The report explains how the process management system should be improved to ensure operational excellence within the organization covering areas like customer care service, scheduling operations, supplier and purchase management, improving process analysis and inventory management. The report examines how the implementation of the lean process would better the operational function within the industry. The report discusses the importance of the company to match its operating capacity to known patterns of demand, and its forecast elaborating the capacity management system within the company. OMAN REFRESHMENT COMPANY INTRODUCTION Any business organization has a management system that is operated through various business operating functions with each being responsible for managing specific aspects of the organization. The central element of operations management functions in any organization is to ensure that the company is responsible for managing the particular set process of creating and manufacturing services and goods. Despite the size of any business organization, operation management plays a significant role as the core function in the organization. Being a management function, operations management function involves the management of the organizations equipment, employees and staff, information, available technology and the numerous organization resources and raw materials that are used in the production process of goods and services. Operations management is responsible for the transformational role in the organization as it involves the process of transforming inputs that involve raw materials into end finished products and services to be delivered (Heizer, Render & Munson, 2019). The inputs comprise of human resource who include employees and staff; company facility and processes which include available equipment’s and buildings. The products and services delivered by the organization should meet the customer demands in every aspect so as to achieve a positive feedback and attract more consumers of the product. Operations management aids in the delivery of the goods and services that are produced by the organization as expected by the company and clients. The report below conducts the analysis the operation management functions of Oman Refreshment Company. The company is located in Oman and was started in 1974 by a business man from Oman. ORC was first set up in Ghubra, Muscat. Oman Refreshment Company owns the rights of PepsiCo food and Beverage Company. The organization has seven operational production branches. The production lines produce beverages in PET bottles, Cans, Non-Returnable bottles and Juices from Tetrapack (Pepsioman.com, 2020). Oman Refreshment Company has an automated production system that ensure efficiency during production (Chopra, 2020). The company has departments that managers both the company’s shipping orders and transport delivery to ensure safe delivery of goods. The company has foreign and local suppliers who offer raw materials at a curt price. The quality supply section is in charge of auditing the supplies to the company. The company manages its supply chain efficiently by being aware of all the activities taking place in every link of the chain. Inventory Management Inventory management consists of recognizing and choosing the best procedure of inventory control. Each organization picks an inventory method that best satisfies the customer demands and that ensures maximum profit is achieved. Oman Refreshment Company operates in the beverage and food sector which deals with perishable goods, this forces the company to ensure that it employs food-beverage services inventory controls that is able to track the movement of products and raw materials (Shmith, 2015). The company tracks its products from each destination and uses batches that are coded and numbered to track down the inventories as this help in recording the important data concerning the production process. Quality Management. Oman Refreshment Company has adapted the use of technology to enhance in its operations. The company launched a social vending system that’s aids in the connection of the company to its clients through an interacting vending technology. The technology ensure that clients can purchase products for other clients form different parts of the country through an online system (Spath, Anderson, Loback, & Carpenter, 2015). The company has developed the use of telemetry system that benefits the company as it facilitates the management of inventories and deliver services in the remote areas without any additional cost. The company boasts of having a quality assurance lab that carefully chooses the best raw materials that is used during the production process. Every product is measured and is taken through a quality vigorous test before being delivered to the market for consumption. The company puts its clients at the first row as it ensures that client safety and satisfaction is at the top of their wish list. Distribution Management Oman Refreshment Company employs distribution strategies that include indirect and direct channels of distribution. Direct distribution involves the managing of the company’s delicate accounts which include restaurants, wholesalers and hotels that are the company’s critical stages of sales. Indirect distribution of Oman Refreshment Products includes the distributions made by various base market and outstation distributors (Wiid, 2015). The distributors are properly assessed to ascertain their capability to offer distribution services to ensure quality service delivery. The company has come up with a product differentiation system that helps it to differentiate its products from its main competitors in the market.
