Vertical Segment Anterior to IJV ~10mm Genu below & anterior to cochlea Horizontal segment exits at Petrous Apex above lacerum ~20mm Branches: Vidian a. Artery of pterygoid canal (anastomoses with ECA) carticotympanic a. C3 Lacerum ANS - Exits carotid canal and courses above (not through) the foramen lacerum. C4 Cavernous ANS - Starts at superior margin of petro-lingual ligament. Long vertical portion Long Horizontal portion short vertical portion.
