Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to identify an unknown plasmid using restriction enzymes and gel electrophoresis. The restriction enzymes will cut the plasmid at specific sites in the DNA.... Using gel electrophoresis, we will separate the resulting fragments by size. The fragment lengths of the cut DNA will be compared to the expected fragment lengths of each of the three unknown plasmids to try and determine the identity of our plasmid. [Show More]
