Course description - An advanced laboratory course concerned with the application of instrumental methods to the chemical analysis of real sample types. The emphasis is on student preparation, problem ... solving and initiative. Detailed instructions are not normally provided for each experiment. This is a half semester laboratory course with required meetings and four hours of laboratory every other week. Course Objectives Provide students with sound problem solving, laboratory and instrumental skills which may be applied to different sample types. Increase the independence of students and decision-making abilities in an analytical laboratory situation. Provide practical analytical method development experience.
