One-third of women worldwide have been victims of sexual violence ... by intimate partners or strangers. As much as 38% of all female homicides worldwide are done by someone the victim knew and trusted.FGM/C is a practice that has affected 200 million women worldwide. There are enormous societal and economic implications associated with this problem and the personal devastation it causes for victims of aggression and their loved ones. Over double what most governments spend on education, the cost of addressing violence against women is estimated to reach 3.7% of GDP in some nations. There will be substantial future costs associated with ignoring this problem.
