Advancements in medical technology have facilitated genetic engineering and modification. In the US, experiments and actual scientific works have been done to edit the human embryo by altering the hum ... an DNA, to prevent undesirable hereditary diseases or to cure imminent diseases. Introduction or modification of new DNA enhances mutations to change the standard body functioning, to arrive at the desirable state. The world has seen numerous interventions from genetic alteration such as the production of hepatitis B vaccine which is made from modification of DNA in Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Regalado, 2015). Diseases such as cancer can be treated through this approach since T-cells are re-programmed to enable white blood cells to recognize and kill cancerous cells (Regalado, 2015). However, an ethical argument has been made about how these advancements oppose God`s creation. Scientists argue that genetic modification is used primarily to improve human life and to treat hereditary diseases and other forms of ailment.
