1. Identify several of CrossFit’s key tangible and intangible resources. How have these
been used to create capabilities and core competencies?
Tangible resources are those physical assets of a company which can be seen and touched
physically for example cars and buildings. Intangible resources on the hand are those resources
which cannot be see of experienced physically like brand awareness and intellectual property.
Goodwill, Franchised, Patent rights and Trademarks are some of the key intangible assets of
CrossFit. Franchise are being used to help the company rich a wider market and increase
revenues. Through the use of franchise CrossFit is able to sell and offer services across different
regions around the globe and thus why the company is now in places like Africa. Trademarks
enables the company to conduct operation using the name CrossFit and there is no other
company which can be allowed to use the name .Thus customers can easily recognize items
produced by the company using the trademark .A trademarks acts as a signature which makes the
company be known all over the industry by customers .Trademarks limit chances of confusion
since each trading company is supposed to have a unique trademark .
Workshops, cars, training equipment’s and human resources are the tangible assets of the
company. All the instructors in various gyms help in delivering services to customers and thus
CrossFit has managed to attract a wide range of customers all around the globe. Workshops act
as training centers and training equipment is what the company uses to ensure all customers are
served according to their needs and wants. The use of tangible and intangible assets makes
CrossFit manage to offer exceptional services in the health and fitness industry. In the fitness
industry it is always good to have modes of transport because people can get hurt or develop
complications and there is need to rush such individuals to a medical clinic .Availability of cars
makes the company be in a position to conduct rigorous activities because they have the ability
to rush any abnormality response to various hospitals .In addition cars are used to ferry people
from one location to another when they are undertaking out physical activities .Cars have made it
possible for trainers to offer services to clients who cannot visit workshops .
