Chick fil A has become the largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in United States due to its 1900 locations all over the country. In 2014, the company's annual sales were nearly $6 billion. However, it is still a family owned business and is not traded on the NASDAQ stock exchange. Chick fil A began offering franchises in 1986 that has helped the company expand. Chick fil A has established the Chick fil A Foundation that is based on company's main principle to serve the community. In 2014, Chick fil A donated $1,000,000 to different organizations across the United States to inspire youth, education, and community leadership (Chick fil A Fact Sheet, 2015). Operations Strategy Chick fil A's organizational strategy is to expand globally by first entering into the market of Canada and eventually Mexico. However, Chick fil A primarily wants to grow domestically stronger and increase market share. In addition to this, Chick fil A also wants to maximize profit but not at the cost of organizational values as the company is committed to helping the communities through their giving tradition (Chick fil A website, 2015). The mission statement of Chick fil A is " to be America's best quick-service restaurant" that reveals its commitment to service.
