Focus will be for the student to identify client/patient needs and plan priority of nursing care. Associated psychomotor skills will be integrated and practiced in the clinical setting. The Nursing Process, the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) goals, Critical thinking, best practices, and scientific evidence will be employed to identify alterations for age appropriate client/patient centered care Prerequisite/Co-requisite Prerequisite: Successful Completion of NURS I0IT, NURS I0IC, and NURS IOIL Co-requisite: NURS 102C, NURS 102L, with a grade of "C" or better or equivalent. PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES (PLOs) Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: 1. Apply the nursing process through critical thinking and professional nursing judgment to provide and evaluate nursing care in acute and long-term care and community settings at the entry-level practice. 2. Utilize the standards of nursing practice to perform and apply its application to the discipline of nursing and its essential relationship to evidence-based nursing practice. 3. Function within the specific professional nursing roles to provide care, coordinate care, deliver health education, and advocate for individuals, families, groups, and communities. 4. Practice within the ethical, legal, and regulatory framework of professional nursing practice. CLINICAL EVALUATION The following clinical assessments will be utilized in the course and graded as noted below: ATI Assignments (10 points – 10 at 1 points) Pass (minimum 80% or strong rating) Shadow Health (20 points-10 at 2 points) Pass (minimum 80%) Medication Quiz (10 points) Pass (minimum 85%) Skills Validation- (10 points) Pass (demonstration of critical elements) Nursing Care Plan (30 points) Pass (minimum 80%) Concept Map (20 points) Pass (minimum 80%) Simulations Pass (minimum 80%) Electronic Health Record Pass or Fail Clinical Performance Evaluation Pass or Fail Students with a score of less than 85% on the medication quiz and a rating of unsatisfactory or fail in any of the clinical assessments will meet with lead faculty to develop a Student Success Action Plan (SSAP). The SSAP identifies deficiencies and provides recommendations for remediation, improvement, and success including satisfactory criteria and completion dates.
