-Primary succession is a type of ecological growth that occurs where there was no former
life

Primary succession would occur after new land is formed by a volcano or glacier,
where no soil is present, and were very few organisms if none have lived.
○ What would be evidence of primary succession? List all characteristics in detail
Evidence of Primary succession would be something like a pioneer species such as
algae and fungi, or small grasses.
○ Define and give examples of a pioneer species - especially for a primary succession
area
Pioneer species would be something like a fungus or algae, or a type of small grass.
