1. If you exercise on a hot day, you need to worry about dehydration. In this context, what do
you think dehydration means?
- In this context dehydration means the lack of water in your body has led to more water
moving out of cells and bodies than the amount of water you drink. Loosing water and becoming
dehydrated can led incoordination. One cause of dehydration is heat exposure especially when
exercising.
2. Astronauts and backpackers often bring dehydrated food. What do you think dehydrated
food is?
- Dehydrated food is a way in which astronauts ins pace preserve their food through the
process of dehydration. The food has no water or moisture, which makes the
food/package lighter and easier for travel. This is a great way for astronauts to have an
endless supply of food with no worries about it expiring.

1. Look at the chemical formula for glucose. How many carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and
oxygen (O) atoms are found in a molecule of glucose? C:6 H:12 O:6

i. It relates to the chemical formula for glucose because it is all of the
