An advance directive is a legal document that expresses the clients wishes
regarding medical treatment in the event the client becomes incapacitated and is
facing end of life issues
Staff should give clients who do not have advance directives information regarding
health care decisions
Clients should be given information about how formulate an advance directive and
have a health care representative present
