Research Dissemination Plan
My research was conducted on stress management vs. lifestyle changes and the effects on
hypertension. After the research is concluded and the findings prepared, then time comes to
disseminate the information to the targeted groups. The targeted groups are typically medical
personnel and frequently the findings are not passed on to the people that actually need the
information – the patient. If we can draw our patients in by providing information that is easily
understood, it may lead to better decision making and improved health outcomes.
Audience
Groups Likely to Use. Groups likely to use the information about hypertension, stress
management, and lifestyle changes can vary widely. These groups may include, but not limited
to, individuals in high stress jobs, obesity, hypertension, coronary artery disease, diabetes, etc.
Individuals that already lead a healthy lifestyle can also benefit from current and up-to-date
information.
Practice settings. The practice setting that would best utilize information about
hypertension would be a doctors’ office, home health agencies, hospitals, free health care clinics,
health fairs, and medical conferences. Some of these groups involve high stress and poor
lifestyle choices and are in need of information to assist with making changes to promote better
health.
Needs of End Users
Data Presentation. The data presentation can be a pamphlet to allow for patients to have
information within easy access and the ability to obtain needed assistance with life changes.
Depending on the audience the information can be presented on a power point with multiple

graphs presenting comparisons. The comparison can show a decrease in blood pressure as stress
decreases or a decrease in blood pressure as exercise is added and weight decreases. Patient
testimonials are also excellent for a patient wanting to make changes and not knowing where to
start or even how to get started. A testimonial can also be motivational and show that minimal
changes can have a big effect.
Specific needs based on practice setting. The specific needs may be adjusted to suit a
particular audience. Information presented to a home health agency would be different than the
information presented at a health fair or a f
