E: NSAIDs SAFE DOSE OR DOSE RANGE, SAFE ROUTE: PO: 90 mg to 3g PURPOSE FOR TAKING THIS MEDICATION: • Rheumatoid Arthritis • Mild pain • Fever • Acute MI • Stable angina pectoris • Acute ischemic stroke • Carotid endarterectomy • Prevention of colorectal cancer in Lynch Syndrome Adverse Effects: • CNS: agitation, cerebral edema, coma, confusion, dizziness, headache, lethargy, seizures, subdural or intracranial hemorrhage. • CV: arrhythmias, hypotension, tachycardia. • EENT: tinnitus, hearing loss. • GI: nausea, GI bleeding, dyspepsia, GI distress, occult bleeding, pancreatitis, vomiting. • GU: antepartum and postpartum bleeding, interstitial nephritis, papillary necrosis, prolonged pregnancy and labor, proteinuria, renal insufficiency, renal failure. • Hematologic: prolonged bleeding time, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, coagulopathy, DIC. • Hepatic: hepatitis. • Metabolic: dehydration, hyperkalemia, hyperglycemia; hypoglycemia (children), metabolic acidosis, respiratory alkalosis. • Skin: rash, bruising, urticaria, hives • Other: angioedema, Reye syndrome, hypersensitivity reactions, low birth weight (infants), stillbirth.
