Analysis of a Pertinent Healthcare Issue
The healthcare field as we know is forever changing as well as growing. Within the
healthcare field, we as nurses and future practitioners are faced daily with changes in our field.
The demands of this field places much stress on our job roles. Whether it is current trends in
healthcare, changes within your organizations or laws the changes are welcomed as they provide
pathways for improving quality of care for patients. Issues seen within healthcare will become
more and more of a challenge for healthcare workers, therefore it is imperative to be able to
adapt to the stressors (Laureate Education, 2015). Although changes are seen in the healthcare
field, many of the changes bring on unwanted stressors which can affect patient care as well.

patients. Some examples to this are hospital acquired pressure injuries, medication errors, and
decreased customer service scores. Retention is a key topic when addressing nursing shortages.

Although this organization is ranked well nationally, viewing things at a more in house view
point, it seems we still have some gray areas which could be improved. The nursing shortage
occurring seems to be a trend affecting all areas. Within my organization we have experience a
severe nursing shortage, but seemingly have had times where we have ov
