Case Study for Mrs. Wong Kimberly Barone Chamberlain NR 601: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the data given on Mrs. Wong and apply diabetic guidelines used for management of plan and d... iagnostics. An important emphasis has been placed on national guidelines and evidence based practice approaches for optimal patient satisfaction and care. Nurse practitioners have a duty to know and apply given guidelines during patient interactions in order for patients to receive the best care possible. Mrs. Wong is a 59- year old Asian female who complains of fatigue and weight gain. She is having no pain and great mobility at this time, but complains of fatigue and gaining weight even though she has adapted exercise to her life. This paper will discuss a primary diagnosis, secondary diagnosis and differential diagnosis to this case study. It will also discuss diagnostics used, barrios to treatment, medication regimen, cost of medication, educations for Mrs. Wong, and plan of action including follow up. The paper will conclude with a SOAP note of the patient. Assessment Mrs. Wong presents with fatigue, inability to lose weight, and abnormal lab values. Her fasting A1c is 6.6% and glucose level is 127. Fasting blood sugar higher than 126 on two separate occasions and a AIC reading higher than 6.5% can be indicative of type 2 diabetes (Abdella & Mojiminiyi 2018).
